About Us

Since the company’s beginnings, TARA Labs has been known as a manufacturer whose cables set the performance standards and whose innovations constantly advance the audio industry.

TARA Labs, began its journey in Sydney, Australia in 1985. The company’s first product was the Phase II speaker cable, a cable unique for its time due to its solid-core construction. A favorable review in the July 1988 issue of “Stereophile” magazine led to increased demand for the product in the United States and the company was moved to the U.S. later that year.

The introduction of Rectangular Solid Core® cables in 1992 is an example of the type of innovation that is responsible for the continuing success of TARA Labs. RSC® cables are the only cables in the world to use a solid, extruded conductor with a rectangular cross section. These revolutionary conductors deliver the current-carrying capability (power) of a large conductor, combined with the frequency linearity (musical accuracy) of a small one.

TARA Labs cables can also be found in some of the world’s finest professional venues, including the recording studios at Carnegie Hall and Sony Studios. Today TARA Labs operates from Ashland, Oregon.
