Devon Scott Dicker

Devon Scott Dicker is the President of Sales & Marketing at TARA Labs. He was brought into the company for his deep experience in recording studios, music and business, and as a lifelong audiophile. Devon fully embraces the emotional impact music has on people, and the part it plays in our lives.

Devon has been involved in music for more than five decades, both as a devoted audiophile and as a musician, performer and recording artist. He has spent hundreds of hours in the recording studio, recording music for feature films, TV commercials, videos and albums, and has worked closely with renowned producers and engineers, from Robert Roth (Scorpions, Eurythmics) to Bernie Grundman (Michael Jackson, Carole King, Prince), as well as with Disney and Universal studios.

Devon understands music from the perspective of both an audiophile and a musician and producer. As an audiophile, he understands what music represents to all of us as listeners and lovers of music: its pure emotional content, and how important it is as part of the essence of life. Music becomes an extension of our emotions, as important as breathing. That might seem excessive to most people, but for audiophiles it needs no explanation at all.

Devon’s involvement in music started at a very early age. His father was a well-known Broadway actor and singer, and Devon grew up with a large console stereo in the living room playing Broadway musicals, jazz and classical albums (on vinyl, of course), and with his father’s live performances on Broadway, which he often watched. These experiences made Devon an audiophile at an early age. They shaped his appreciation of live music, and of how audiophiles search endlessly for components that let them hear music as it was originally recorded. When it came to high-end audio cables, there was only ever one choice: TARA Labs.

Later work as a musician and performer

Devon has recorded and performed with his band, which includes members who have played with Neil Diamond, Guns N’ Roses, the Doobie Brothers, Rita Coolidge, Joe Cocker and Aretha Franklin. With his band of top studio musicians, and as a solo performer, he has played from New York City to Los Angeles, and has opened for established artists including Asia, The Tokens and Jay Leno in front of thousands of music fans.

A commercial for Devon’s debut album, I Believe, and his music video One Nation have been featured on the DVD releases of many major films, including movies starring Robert De Niro, John Travolta, Nicole Kidman and Tommy Lee Jones. Some four million of these DVDs have been carried by major retail chains in the United States and Canada. Devon has also written songs for two feature films, Hard Rock Nightmare and Deadly Moves.

Charitable work for children’s causes has always been important to Devon. He wrote and performed the song “One Nation,” and produced a music video for it, to raise awareness of the Fisher House Foundation, which helps the children of wounded soldiers. His efforts have brought considerable attention to this cause, and he has received letters of appreciation from Presidents Bush and Obama, as well as from more than twenty U.S. governors and senators.
